This compact arts centre occupies a linear site to the north of the main school buildings, where it houses a 300-seat theatre, rehearsal space and dance studio, and an art gallery. Vernacular, barn-like forms make inventive use of a listed Victorian swimming pool and an ancient stone wall, with the new roof and wall sections clad in oak shakes. Inside, cast concrete, exposed brickwork, and timber structures and cladding are used in a variety of attractive and functional spaces.

Awards: OPT Award, 2007; RIBA National Award, 2008.
