First Church of Christ Scientist

Reading Room as an addition to existing modern Church facilities (Bozeat Partnership, 2006).

The present Christian Science Church and Sunday School (Bozeat Partnership, 1986) replaced a prewar church on the St Giles site. This Reading Room, providing a small library and study room, together with a glazed entrance canopy, has been added by the same architects after a twenty year interval. It successfully complements the earlier design with a simple palette of metals, glass and timber. The result is both substantial and light, set off by the landscaped courtyard.
