Corpus Christi College – MBI Al Jaber Building

Multi-purpose auditorium (Rick Mather/MICA, 2009).

This small contemporary building has been cleverly inserted into a bastion of the 13th century city wall, part of which is exposed internally. It provides a flexible space for lectures, performance, dining and meetings. Only visible from within the college.

One of a number of new buildings in Oxford by Rick Mather, his work can also be seen at Keble, Mansfield and (shortly) The Queen’s colleges, as well as at the Ashmolean Museum.

Awards: RIBA Award, 2010; Civic Trust Award, 2011.

Merton Street, Oxford, OX1 4JF (not visible from outside the college grounds)
