A major facility for the Department of Chemistry, comprising laboratories, research facilities and academic offices (RMJM, 2004).

The Chemistry Research Laboratory (CRL) presents a large and elegant new frontage on South Parks Road, with elevations of steel and glass in blue-grey tones. The largest laboratory building in Oxford, at 16,000 m² over six floors (including two basements), the main building houses the laboratory spaces, while a lower office building is connected by a fully glazed atrium,  stepping down in scale towards Mansfield College.
