Private house
A self-build house for a private client just outside Oxford (Adrian James, 2014)
This modest house, about the size and shape of two stacked shipping containers, was built from a flat-pack of insulated timber panels. Yet the result, according to the RIBA jury, is “an utterly simple and delightful building that has been extremely well thought through by the architect, evidently a labour of love by a highly skilled ‘self-build’ client/project manager.”
