Conversion of a listed shop to a graduate studies centre (Lee / Fitzgerald Architects, 2012)

The former Blackwell’s Music Shop (Gillespie, Kidd & Coia, 1970), listed Grade II, has been converted into a graduate studies centre, providing a common room, bar, seminar spaces and library. The shop was a well-known presence on Holywell Street, with its glazed atrium giving views into the basement. Access to the building has been reversed to incorporate it into the college site to the north, where a small entrance building has been added in the Back Quad.
